First of all, you'll have to forgive me if this is a pointlessly obvious solution to this. This was was the only way to do invisible armor with properly functioning mods. I discovered I've been using Armorsmith wrong for years (or rather installing it incorrectly). In version 2.3 of Tactical Flashlights if you use the patch from Armorsmith Extended.
